Preparing for Your Inspection
In addition to termites, the inspector will also be looking for other issues such as
fungus and/or dry rot, and conducive conditions that can lead to potential
problems. Some most common conditions are plumbing leaks, cellulose debris,
and earth to wood.
For the most thorough inspection, there are a few things you can do to prepare
for the inspector:
- Make areas under sinks in the kitchens & bathrooms accessible to the
inspector.
- Make areas on the interior of the garage accessible two feet away from the
walls.
- Trim back any bushes or ground cover that conceals the walls or
foundation.
- If your home is built on a raised foundation, the inspector will go under the
house. Make sure the access opening to the sub area is accessible. If the
access opening is located in the floor of a closet, please clear out closet
and pull back the carpet.
- If you are not going to be home, be sure to unlock any gates and let us
know of any pets.
- Please call us if you have any questions as we are always here to help.
